Holbox: At the Rhythm of the Sun
Holbox: At the Rhythm of the Sun
Holbox is a small island located in the Mexican
Caribbean, known for its pristine landscapes,
turquoise waters, and peaceful atmosphere, making it
an ideal destination for those looking to disconnect
from the everyday. However, one of the most
important aspects of Holbox is its deep connection to
the sea and fishing, an activity that has been the
island’s economic cornerstone for generations.
Holbox fishermen, who still use traditional and
sustainable techniques, are responsible for the
freshness and quality of the seafood served in the
island’s restaurants.Local consumption is key to the
Holbox community. Dining in local restaurants allows
visitors to enjoy authentic Caribbean cuisine while
supporting small family-run businesses that are the
heart of the village.

Holbox: At the Rhythm of the Sun
We begin the day early, setting out from the mainland as the first light touches the sea. Our journey takes us to a quiet cenote tucked into the natural landscape, ideal for a refreshing morning swim.
Then we head to Isla de la Pasión, a small, unspoiled island surrounded by shallow turquoise waters and home to rich birdlife and calm shores.
Once on Holbox, we explore the village by bike at your own rhythm. Wander the sandy streets, enjoy a local snack, or continue on to Punta Mosquito a protected stretch of coast known for its wild beauty and seasonal flocks of flamingos, or Punta Cocos on the other side of the Island.
This experience is designed for travelers who value connection over speed. With options for activity or relaxation, fresh local food, and plenty of space to take it all in, Holbox invites you to slow down and experience the real luxury of presence.

Recommendations
We recommend using a reef-safe, water-resistant sunscreen and applying it before leaving your hotel. Once you reach the port, applying sunscreen is no longer allowed.
Even better, we highly recommend wearing a long-sleeve UV shirt and a cap for natural sun protection. It's the most effective and eco-friendly way to stay safe under the sun while respecting the ocean and its wildlife.
